How to Unlock Sum of His Parts Mission in Borderlands 4
Complete No Place Like Home First
You need to complete the No Place Like Home side mission first before unlocking Sum of His Parts in Borderlands 4.
Claptrap's eye location in Racketrun, southwest of Idolator's Noose
Once unlocked, you can start the side mission by talking to Claptrap's eye in Racketrun, located southwest of Idolator's Noose. Claptrap's eye will be in the dumpster.
Borderlands 4 Sum of His Parts Mission Walkthrough
1. Find Claptrap's Chassis
Locate and retrieve Claptrap's main body frame
2. Go to Old Scrapper's House
Find Claptrap's missing parts at the scrapper's house
3. Return to Claptrap
Reassemble Claptrap and defend against attackers
Find Claptrap's Chassis
Step 1: Once you've accepted the mission, Claptrap will ask you to find the rest of his body. Head southeast of Racketrun to the flower garden, where you'll find Claptrap's chassis has been turned into a flower pot.
Step 2: Destroy the flower on the chassis, and Redthumb will appear to attack you. Kill him to proceed. This mini-boss has area-of-effect attacks, so keep your distance.
Step 3: After defeating Redthumb, take Claptrap's chassis and return to the workshop near where you found his eye. Place the chassis on the table.
Step 4: Grab Claptrap's eye from the dumpster and place it on the chassis to partially reassemble him.
Go to Old Scrapper's House
Step 1: Head west to Rattlehead Crest and knock on the old scrapper's house. Be ready, as you will have to fight enemies along the way! Recommended level for this area is 15+.
Step 2: Climb the tower next to the house using your grappling hook and take the antenna at the top. Watch out for snipers in the area while climbing.
Step 3: Once the old scrapper's house is open, enter and grab Claptrap's arms. The first arm will be in the bucket in front of the TV, and the second will be on the nearby table. Check all containers for additional loot!
Step 4: Continue to the back of the house and jump down to the beach village. Claptrap's wheel will be at the south end of the area, where it's being used as a treadmill. Take the wheel and return to Claptrap.
Return to Claptrap
Step 1: With all parts collected, interact with Claptrap to reattach his arms, give him a high five, and place the wheel below him. Enjoy the hilarious dialogue during this process!
Step 2: Follow Claptrap outside, where you'll encounter Lootin' Luke and his gang. Kill them all to proceed. Focus on Luke first as he has a powerful shotgun that can deal massive damage at close range.
Step 3: After killing Lootin' Luke and his gang, follow Claptrap to his junk. Talk to him to complete the mission and claim your rewards. Don't forget to check the junk pile for additional loot!
Pro Tip:
Before completing the mission, make sure to check your equipment and empty some inventory space to accommodate your new rewards, especially if you're playing on higher difficulty levels where loot quality increases.
