Your complete guide to conquering the eighth main mission in the Callis questline
"Siege and Destroy" is the eighth main mission in Borderlands 4 if you choose to focus on the Callis questline after dealing with Idolator Sol. After meeting Moxxi and Zane, it's time to come up with a plan to handle the Ripper threat. This walkthrough will guide you through Siege and Destroy as you get closer to Callis's command bolt.
Mission Start:
You should already be in Moxxi's bar after Wrath of the Ripper Queen. If not, return there and speak to Zane to get this main mission started.

After the conversation with Zane, you get an optional objective to talk to Moxxi. Speak to her at the bar for a quick chat, then follow Zane beneath the bar to learn more about what he's been through since the events of Borderlands 3.
Follow him into a strange pit under the bar to meet a giant Thresher named Sophia, then pull the levers on either side of her cage to open it up. Then, turn around and grab Sophia's toy once the cage is open.

Destroy the Catapults: Borderlands 4 Strategy
Zane's plan is to place Sophia's toy on the catapults so that she destroys them to retrieve her toy. The first catapult is located directly east of your position, accessible through the door Zane opens to exit the pit.
Follow the path out of the pit and climb up two walls to reach an open area where you'll have to fight through Rippers to reach the catapult's location.
Enemy Weakness Guide:
Almost all the enemies here are weak to Incendiary damage, except one – the Catapult Master. He's a Badass-type enemy who has armor, shield, and flesh health bars.
- Use Corrosive damage for armor
- Use Shock damage for shields
- Use Incendiary damage for flesh
Grapple up to the top of the catapult and place Sophia's toy there once the area is clear. Run to a safe distance and watch Sophia execute the plan to perfection.

Retrieve Sophia's toy and get ready to repeat this process two more times for the next two catapults. The second catapult is slightly north of your current position.
There are more Rippers and Psychos to get rid of here, and some have shields. Be ready with Shock and Incendiary guns. When the area is safe, grapple up to the top of the catapult and place the toy just like you did with the first one.
Third Catapult Strategy
The third catapult is just a bit further north, but this one is protected by a shield dome. Thankfully, Levaine marks the power source on your map, allowing you to deactivate the shield.
Walk around the dome, toward a bright beacon at the top of a nearby building. Climb up a ladder to reach the top of the building and flip a switch to turn off the shield.
Now, grapple up the catapult and place Sophia's toy one more time to complete your objective of ending the siege.
Provide Backup for Levaine: Borderlands 4 Combat Tips
Levaine is still having trouble with the Rippers in her immediate area, so it's up to you to provide a bit of support. Head east to find a giant structure and plenty of Rippers, including a Badass Rat-a-tat and a Badass Psycho.
Damage Type Recommendations:
- Incendiary - Primary damage type for most enemies
- Shock - Effective against shielded enemies
- Corrosive - Useful for turrets and armored targets
Combat area where you provide support for Levaine
Fight your way to Carcadia City by passing through the large gate and clearing the courtyard area on the other side. Zane and Sophia join you as you progress, making this large-scale battle easier.
Zane is a huge help here, so you can follow him through the streets as he shows why he was also once a playable Vault Hunter. He can also revive you when you go down, so sticking close to him is just a good idea in general.
Eventually, you'll make it to the city square where a mysterious character makes a sudden appearance. But she's gone almost as quickly as she appeared, leaving you to deal with several Rippers, and Badass Captain Kuzma.
Captain Kuzma Boss Strategy:
Captain Kuzma has a portable dome shield around him, but he only has flesh health bars, meaning he's weak to Incendiary and fire damage.
- Walk inside his shield to engage in close combat
- Shoot the pack on his back to disable the shield
- Focus on Incendiary damage weapons
- Watch for his axe throws and melee attacks

Completing Siege and Destroy: Borderlands 4 Rewards
Speak to Zane near Sophia after the battle for some optional dialogue, then enter the leaders chamber to finally meet Levaine face to face. Talk to her and she'll offer up a reward for your troubles.
After this meeting, Carcadia becomes a faction town just like the Outbounders HQ in the Fadefields. This means that you can access a bank, a golden key chest, a lost loot machine, and a respec machine here once you restore power to the area.
Follow the ECHO Location out of the room through the door and open the chest outside to bring an end to this mission.
