How to Start Price of Freedom in Borderlands 4

This quest can be done anytime after reaching Dominion region in the story. Unfog the map near it to reveal the quest marker on the map. Then place a custom waypoint on it for the location line to guide you to it.

It's in the area above the yellow acidic water, must go through a metal gate. Inside you find 3 soldiers guarding a prison cell. Kill them, the quest giver is behind the red forcefield in the cell. Press the green button on the left side of the cell to remove the forcefield, then talk to the man.

Price of Freedom Mission Objectives

Rescue Sue

Joe sends you to help his wife Sue, she is 200 meters further south. Follow the golden location line. When you reach the area, there will be waves of Order enemies spawning.

Defeat Order Forces

Kill all of the Order enemies. These are standard troops but can overwhelm you if you're not careful. Use cover and focus on one enemy at a time.

Rescue Sue

Go through the gate at the very end of the area where you fought the Order. You must interact with the gate to open it. Sue is right behind the gate. Joe will come to meet her.

Talk to Joe

Interact with Joe. He reveals him and his wife started an Ordonite smuggling ring. He wants your help to find 3 of his smuggled packages.

Retrieve Packages (x3)

These will be scattered across 3 search areas. Follow the golden location line from one area to the next.

Package #1 Location

In the south of the search circle, in the bottom of the area pull the grate to reveal a little room with the package. It will be highlighted green when you scan.

Package #2 Location

In the red tunnel in the east of the search area. Watch out for enemy patrols in this area.

Package #3 Location

Up on a building. At the south-west edge of the search area jump off the ramp to the platform, then over to the left building where you can climb a ladder. Glide over to another building on the right to find the package.

Regroup with Joe and Sue

They will stand right outside the area with the third package. Give Joe the packages.

Reach Double Tap

Go through the gate with Joe and Sue. Then more Order enemies attack.

Defeat Commander Rufford's Forces

Defeat the enemies. These are slightly tougher than the previous ones, so use your best weapons and abilities.

Continue to Double Tap

Advance to the waypoint at the neon-lit "Double Tap" building. When you approach the entrance, Rufford himself will come to fight you.

Defeat Commander Rufford and Troops

Kill everyone. Rufford is one of the human enemies. He has a shield bar and more health than regular troops. Aim for critical spots and use corrosive weapons if available.

Enter Double Tap

Enter the neon-lit building, for real this time.

Wait for Joe and Sue

Go to the door, Joe and Sue should already be there or appear shortly after. Listen to them talk to Vito at the door. After some chatting, the mission will complete. Vito, the guy at the door, will offer the follow-up quest Price of Freedom Pt. 2.

Borderlands 4 Price of Freedom Strategy Tips

This mission can be challenging due to the number of enemies you'll face. Here are some tips to help you succeed:

• Bring weapons with different elemental damage types to handle various enemy types
• Use cover during the large enemy waves to avoid taking too much damage
• If playing as a team, coordinate your attacks and revives
• Before facing Commander Rufford, make sure to replenish ammo and health
• Explore the areas thoroughly as there may be additional chests and loot
