Borderlands 4 Old Tricks Mission Objectives

1. Meet Old Raymond at radio tower

The radio tower will be marked in Terminus district. If you've unlocked a nearby fast travel station you can travel there immediately. Approach him and the objective will update.

2. Defeat Order troops

You must kill all Order enemies in this area. These enemies typically include standard troopers and may include some heavier units depending on your level.

Pro Tip:

Use elemental weapons effective against armor for the heavier Order troops. Corrosive damage works particularly well against their mechanical enhancements.

3. Take transmitters

After clearing the area, Raymond will hand you an item - make sure to take it from him to proceed with the mission.

4. Place transmitters (x3)

You must install 3 transmitters on the tower above where Raymond handed you the item. Jump up to the ladder directly above Raymond (can scan with up/Z to mark it green). Two transmitters are on the floor up the ladder.

One transmitter is on the floor above that. Look for a climbable edge in the south-west of where you placed the first two transmitters to climb up.

Navigation Tip:

If you're having trouble finding the climbable edge, use your scanner to highlight interactive elements. The climbable surface will be marked with a distinctive yellow highlight.

5. Return to Old Raymond

After placing all three transmitters, drop back down to Raymond to report your progress.

6. Defend radio tower

More enemies arrive once the transmitters are active. You'll need to defeat them to protect the equipment. Expect multiple waves of Order troops, including some specialized units.

Defense Strategy:

Take advantage of the high ground around the tower for better positioning. Use area-of-effect weapons to handle groups of enemies, and focus on any heavy units first as they pose the greatest threat to the equipment.

7. Talk to Old Raymond

After all enemies are cleared out, talk to Raymond again. He says his thanks and his questline ends right after you are done talking.

Borderlands 4 Old Tricks Pro Tips

Weapon Recommendations

Bring a combination of weapons for different situations: a accurate rifle for sniping, a shotgun for close encounters, and an elemental weapon for armored enemies.

Character Builds

If playing as a Siren, consider investing in phasecast abilities for crowd control during the defense sequence. For Gunner characters, the auto bear skill can provide valuable additional firepower.

Exploration

After completing the mission, return to the radio tower area as there may be additional loot chests that spawn once the mission is complete.

Co-op Strategy

In multiplayer, have one player focus on placing transmitters while others provide covering fire from strategic positions around the tower.
