"Love in the Time of Eridium Poisoning" is a fascinating side mission in Borderlands 4 that combines dark humor, marital drama, and the series' signature combat. This comprehensive walkthrough will guide you through every objective of this quest.
This mission starts in the south of Dominion's Terminus District. Enter the building at the end of the water canal to find Brenda inside. It will get marked when unfogging the area, then you can put a marker on it that will lead you there.
Brenda explains that she bought her husband a sexy gift but accidentally dropped it in the reservoir. Your job is to find this item for her.
Go back outside the building and interact with the console at the door upstairs. The foreman will open the door, then go inside to enter the plant.
Before entering the plant, make sure you have corrosion-resistant gear as you'll be dealing with Eridium-poisoned enemies and environments.
In the first room, you'll encounter Eridium-poisoned enemies. These foes have enhanced abilities but are weak to certain elemental damage types.
After clearing the initial enemies, locate and flip the switch in the middle of the room to shut down the plant temporarily.
Pull the lever in the same room (it will be marked). If you are too slow to cycle the pump it will fail and you must redo it.
After pulling the lever, quickly shoot the targets on the pipes to the right of the lever when they light up green.
The targets only stay green for a limited time. Use a weapon with high fire rate or splash damage to hit them quickly.
Go to the next pump in this room and again shoot the targets when they are green. There are 6 targets total for this pump.
More enemies spawn right after priming the second pump in the same room. Eliminate them all to proceed.
These enemies are typically stronger than the first wave. Use cover and elemental advantages to defeat them efficiently.
Use the third lever in this room and shoot the 8 targets when they are green. This is the most challenging pump to activate.
After priming all three pumps, flip the switch in the middle of the room again to completely shut down the plant.
Return to the quest giver and jump down into the reservoir building to meet Brenda.
In a classic Borderlands twist, Brenda and the Foreman turn on you and try to kill you. You must decide whether to kill Brenda or Herman.
Brenda drops a unique blue item when defeated.

Go back up the ladder and use the key on the break room. The quest ends as soon as you do this. There's a weapons chest in here with your reward.
