How to Unlock It's a Whole Phase Situation in Borderlands 4
To start the "It's a Whole Phase Situation" side mission, you must first complete the main mission "His Vile Sanctum" in Borderlands 4.
After finishing this main story mission, head to The Low Leys area of Terminus Range where you'll find Watching Gee kneeling on the ground by the steps to a mountain.

Find Mori Objectives
1. Talk to Watching Gee
Begin the mission by speaking with Watching Gee at The Low Leys in Terminus Range. He'll explain that his friend Mori has gone missing during a phase shift experiment.
2. Find Mori's Last Known Location
Head to the marked location on your map where Mori was last seen. You'll encounter a group of creeps that must be eliminated. After defeating them, pick up the phase-shifting candle from the ground.
3. Travel to Heritage Opus Shrine
Make your way to the shrine at the Heritage Opus Safehouse. If this is your first visit, you'll need to capture the Safehouse before proceeding. The shrine is located on the balcony with a unique console.
4. Place the Candle and Follow the Light
Place the candle on the shrine, which will activate a phase-shifting mechanism and shoot out a purple beam of light. You need to follow this beam to its destination.
5. Destroy the Barrier and Find Mori
At the end of the light path, you'll find a purple phase barrier. Destroy it by shooting it until it shatters. Enter the cave and slide down the slope where you'll finally find Mori.
Pro Tip:
Use corrosive or shock weapons against the phase barrier for faster destruction. The creeps in this area are weak to incendiary damage.
Escape with Mori Objectives
1. Call the Bridge for Mori
After talking to Mori, you need to help them escape. Jump and glide to climb the wall and reach the platform. Interact with the console to call a bridge for Mori to cross. Follow and talk to Mori, who will then suddenly disappear, leaving behind a phase rift.
2. Enter the Phase Rifts
Enter the rift that Mori left behind and eliminate the creeps on the other side. Continue through subsequent rifts that appear, dealing with enemies in each phase-shifted area.
3. Eliminate the Rippers
In a large section of the cave, you'll encounter a group of dangerous rippers. Use area-of-effect weapons and abilities to deal with these fast-moving enemies efficiently.
4. Rescue Mori from the Rift
After defeating the last ripper, a rift will appear with Mori calling for help. Look up at the rift and use your grappling hook to pull Mori out to safety.
5. Final Combat and Return
Help Mori eliminate one final wave of rippers, then follow them through the remaining rifts to escape the phase-shifted cave system. Return to Watching Gee at the shrine at the Heritage Opus Safehouse to complete the mission.

This mission introduces the new phase-shifting mechanics in Borderlands 4. Pay attention to environmental cues as the phase rifts can sometimes be tricky to spot. The purple glow and distortion effects are key indicators.
