Borderlands 4 Imminent Jest Walkthrough

As you venture into Carcadia Burn in Borderlands 4, one of the first side missions you'll come across involves some good ol' fashioned pranking thanks to a Badass Psycho named Jankus. Here's how to complete the Imminent Jest side mission, including all objectives and rewards.

Starting the Imminent Jest Mission in Borderlands 4

Speak to the docile Badass Psycho named Jankus at Wallowing Heights, near the entrance to Carcadia Burn. He insists on pulling a prank on Crankus, so follow his lead.

Finding Crankus in Borderlands 4 Imminent Jest Quest

Head north up the road to The Yawning Yard, where you'll find Crankus standing outside the appropriately-named "Villa-de-Cranku". He quite literally jests about standing under a sludge pipe, not worrying about what could happen.

Oblige him by shooting the glowing pipe above him. Crankus immediately applauds you and asks to talk. Do so, and Crankus will ask you to pass the favor back to his brother by turning off his air conditioning. The audacity.

Turning Off Jankus' AC Unit in Borderlands 4

Check your map for Jankus' location, which is further north, just past Embracer's Bluff. Head there, and you'll find the shack in question with an AC unit on the roof.

Use your Grapple on the AC unit, and it'll come clean off the roof. In the process, Jankus emerges on fire and begging for reprieve. Crankus asks how it went, so return to his location to provide the gnarly details. Check your map if needed.

Returning to Crankus and Completing Imminent Jest

Once back, talk to Crankus, and he'll reveal that Jankus actually isn't dead and that the flames were fake. Meaning, you were the one who got pranked all along.

With that, Jankus and Crankus will turn hostile and demand your innards for the black market. Take them both out the same way you handle any other Rippers, and the mission will then conclude with base rewards provided.
