Complete guide to the Hangover Helper side mission in Borderlands 4 with detailed objectives, strategies, and reward information.
To start the Hangover Helper side mission, you'll need to travel to the Coastal Bonescape area on the eastern side of the Carnivora map.
Once you arrive at Coastal Bonescape, look for a small settlement by the river where you'll find a character named Iris. She's dealing with a massive hangover from the previous night's party and needs your help dealing with the aftermath.
After speaking with Iris, head east from the settlement where you'll find a shack below a cliffside. This is Shammy's Shack, home to Ole Shammy, the local brewmaster.
Ole Shammy will explain that he can create a hangover cure, but he needs specific ingredients to brew his special remedy.
Before leaving the settlement, check the containers around Iris for ammo and health, as you'll be facing several enemies during this mission.
After talking to Ole Shammy, head for the cliffs marked on your map. You'll need to collect 4 special fruits hanging from branches on the cliffside.
Use your grappling hook to reach the fruits. While you're collecting them, you may encounter kratches (small, aggressive creatures). Eliminating them is an optional objective but will make the process easier and grant bonus XP.
After collecting all fruits, return to Ole Shammy's shack and place them in the stomping tub. Perform a ground slam to remove the seeds. Then head east to find a geyser in an enclosure by a worn-down shack. Ground slam to crack it open and retrieve a red geyser nugget when it bursts.
The kratches attack in groups but have low health. Use area-of-effect weapons or abilities to quickly dispatch them while collecting the fruits.
Head southwest from the shack to find a field near water where manglers roam. You'll need to collect 9 mangler scent glands from these creatures.
Manglers are aggressive creatures that attack with ranged poison spit and close-range claw attacks. Aim for their critical spots (usually their heads or glowing parts) to take them down more efficiently.
Manglers sometimes drop additional loot like grenades or shields, so it's worth eliminating all of them in the area even after you've collected the required scent glands.
This is the final stage of the Hangover Helper mission where you'll need to set up a trap for the rippers that have contaminated the beer supply.
Head east to find an area with non-hostile rippers near a tower with a large tank. You need to de-spike the beer supply by standing on top of the tank and depositing the fruit mixture. Alternatively, you can throw it from the ground if you have good aim.
After depositing the mixture, drop down and interact with the microphone stand on the stage to gather the partygoers. This will cause the rippers to gather beneath the tank, setting them up for the trap.
Wait for Ole Shammy's signal, then shoot the keg to douse the rippers with the spiked beer mixture. This will enrage them and initiate combat. Eliminate all the rippers to complete the mission.
An alpha ripper may appear during the final combat. Focus on it first as it can call reinforcements. Use corrosive or fire weapons for maximum damage against these fleshy enemies.
