To begin the "Exit Through the Rift Shop" mission, you'll need to locate a specific corpse in The Low Leys area. Here's exactly where to find it:
Interact With the Corpse in The Low Leys
Travel to the frozen lake south of Wreck of the Seventh Cradle in The Low Leys. Look under the bridge to find the corpse holding an ECHO log. Interact with it to start the mission.
This location can be easily missed if you're not exploring thoroughly, so keep an eye out for the distinctive frozen lake environment with the large bridge overhead.
Should You Shoot or Punch Francis Oddman?
At the climax of the mission, you'll face a crucial decision that affects your achievement/trophy progress. Here's what you need to know:
Punch Francis Oddman to Unlock Trophy and Achievement
When given the choice to either punch or shoot Francis Oddman, always choose to punch him. Shooting will lock you out of the "Rift Incompatible" Trophy/Achievement.
Punching Francis pushes him into the rift, which allows you to later find his final resting place at Windspear and unlock the Trophy/Achievement.

This is a missable Trophy/Achievement! Shooting Francis Oddman will permanently lock you out of "Rift Incompatible" for your current playthrough.

1. Gather Machine Parts
Travel to Deep Seven Silo
Head northeast of Dissected Plateau to reach Deep Seven Silo. Enter the building just north of the silo and speak with Francis Oddman inside to receive your objective.
Head to Waterstop Encampment
Travel to the Order encampment in Waterstop, east of Coastal Bonescape. Be prepared for combat—enemies patrol this area and will attack on sight.
Collect Three Machine Parts
Search the encampment for three machine parts:
- Two parts are located on the upper level of the camp
- The third is on the lower level, beneath the bridge
Melee the containers to remove their lids, then collect the parts. Return to Francis Oddman and place the machine parts in the marked spots upstairs to create a rift.
2. Release Prisoners
Jump Into the Rift
Use your grappling hook to jump into the rift. This will transport you to an Order facility. Eliminate all Order forces in the area before proceeding.
Release the Prisoners
Follow your objective marker to locate the prisoner cells. Press the button near the stairs to release them. For better mission rewards, we recommend talking to all three prisoners before leaving.
Find the Enriched Eridium
In the southern part of the area, use your grappling hook to climb up a ledge and enter through the vent on the right. Inside the storage room, shoot the lock of the locker second from the left to collect the enriched Eridium.
Return to the rift and throw the Eridium into it before jumping back through.
3. Confront Francis Oddman
Return to the Overworld
After jumping back through the rift, you'll need to eliminate the Order forces that have arrived in the area. Clear all enemies before proceeding.
Make Your Choice
Head back inside the building to confront Francis Oddman. Remember to punch him instead of shooting to unlock the Trophy/Achievement and access additional content later in the game.
Pro Tip
After punching Francis into the rift, remember to visit Windspear later to find his body and claim your reward for the "Rift Incompatible" achievement.
